Fibonacci number of the tadpole graph

چکیده
In 1982, Prodinger and Tichy defined the Fibonacci number of a graph G to be the number of independent sets of the graph G. They did so since the Fibonacci number of the path graph Pn is the Fibonacci number Fn+2 and the Fibonacci number of the cycle graph Cn is the Lucas number Ln. The tadpole graph Tn,k is the graph created by concatenating Cn and Pk with an edge from any vertex of Cn to a pendant of Pk for integers n = 3 and k = 0. This paper establishes formulae and identities for the Fibonacci number of the tadpole graph via algebraic and combinatorial methods.

The (non-)existence of perfect codes in Lucas cubes
A Fibonacci string of length $n$ is a binary string $b = b_1b_2ldots b_n$ in which for every $1 leq i < n$, $b_icdot b_{i+1} = 0$. In other words, a Fibonacci string is a binary string without 11 as a substring. Similarly, a Lucas string is a Fibonacci string $b_1b_2ldots b_n$ that $b_1cdot b_n = 0$. For a natural number $ngeq1$, a Fibonacci cube of dimension $n$ is denoted by $Gamma_n$ and i...
متن کاملOn the second order first zagreb index
Inspired by the chemical applications of higher-order connectivity index (or Randic index), we consider here the higher-order first Zagreb index of a molecular graph. In this paper, we study the linear regression analysis of the second order first Zagreb index with the entropy and acentric factor of an octane isomers. The linear model, based on the second order first Zag...
متن کاملEnergy of Graphs, Matroids and Fibonacci Numbers
The energy E(G) of a graph G is the sum of the absolute values of the eigenvalues of G. In this article we consider the problem whether generalized Fibonacci constants $varphi_n$ $(ngeq 2)$ can be the energy of graphs. We show that $varphi_n$ cannot be the energy of graphs. Also we prove that all natural powers of $varphi_{2n}$ cannot be the energy of a matroid.
متن کاملTadpole Labelled Oriented Graph Groups and Cyclically Presented Groups
We study a class of Labelled Oriented Graph (LOG) group where the underlying graph is a tadpole graph. We show that such a group is the natural HNN extension of a cyclically presented group and investigate the relationship between the LOG group and the cyclically presented group. We relate the second homotopy groups of their presentations and show that hyperbolicity of the cyclically presented ...
متن کاملThe lower bound for the number of 1-factors in generalized Petersen graphs
In this paper, we investigate the number of 1-factors of a generalized Petersen graph $P(N,k)$ and get a lower bound for the number of 1-factors of $P(N,k)$ as $k$ is odd, which shows that the number of 1-factors of $P(N,k)$ is exponential in this case and confirms a conjecture due to Lovász and Plummer (Ann. New York Acad. Sci. 576(2006), no. 1, 389-398).
